Training and Qualifications
Sacred Knots is committed to ongoing training and development in all aspects of dreadlock care, maintenance and creation in order to provide you with the best experience possible.
In 2019 I decided to train with Ann-Marie, the founder and owner of the world-reowned swedish Seienstyle dreadlock salon! This course comprised of many, many hours of training, coursework and multiple hair models to demonstrate my skill and knowledge. I have also spent two days training one-to-one with Ann-Marie in person at the Seienstyle salon in Stockholm, Sweden. Additionally I have participated in a two-day workshop alongside other Seienstyle affiliates and students. I have completed additional training with Seienstyle in order to become an affiliate so you can be confident that I can help you achieve your dream hair using their unique technique of creating beautiful dreadlocks.
Ann-Marie has almost 20 years experience of creating, maintaining and extending dreadlocks and has developed many unique techniques over this time. I am extremely grateful to have had the chance to work with such a talented creator within the industry and to learn from her years of experience. You can see loads more examples of her work on the Seienstyle website, or pop over to Instagram and follow her on there: @seienstyle.
Additionally, I am a Hypknotic certified dreadlock technician, having completed in-person training with Mandy Turner, owner of Hypknotic Transformations based in Peterborough, UK. Mandy has gone on to form BeeJam,a travelling UK-based dreadlock training course. The course covered all aspects of dreadlock creation and maintenance, including how to professionally section, install, extend and maintain dreadlocks using the crochet method of dreadlock creation. You can see her work by following her on Instagram (@Hypknotic_) or Facebook (@hypknotictransformations).
In late 2019, I will be participating in the pilot group for the Professional Synthetic Dreadlock Stylist course run by Dreadshop. This course will cover all aspects of synthetic dreadlock creation, installation and care, as well as braiding. It's the first course of it's kind and I'm extremely excited to be selected to take part in the first group of students! You can learn more about the course here, or if you would like to be a model as part of the training and affiliation process for this course, please sign up for my mailing list where I will post models required as soon as I have more information.
